ABOUT

Irina Moscu is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice unfolds across stage design, costume design, theatre directing, performance, and installation art.

Initially trained as an architect and graphic designer, she later pursued studies in directing, developing a distinctive artistic language across theatre, opera, film, music events, runway shows, and interdisciplinary projects.

She began her career in independent theatre, and her work has since expanded to collaborations with major Romanian and European theatres.

Alongside her work as a scenographer and director, Irina has also written and performed her own pieces, presented at the National Museum of Contemporary Art and the National Theatre Festival. This authorial and performative direction remains an important part of her artistic research.

Several of her recent projects have been nominated for Best Stage and Costume Design by UNITER (The Romanian National Union of Theatre Artists) and by the Hungarian Theatre Critics Association.

Her work has received multiple awards and nominations, including the Gopo Award for Best Production Design in Film and the Prize of the Romanian Order of Architects.
